Experience an exclusive three-day program, which will include a private cultural tour of The Hague and Leiden for participating guests in advance of the Exhibition Opening:
Tour of The Hague: Tuesday, October 6th
11:00 am – Viewing of the Mauritshuis Museum and light lunch at the Museum Café, Brasserie Mauritshuis
2:00 pm – Guided walk of city center, passing by the Dutch Royal Family’s notable City Palaces:
Palace Noordeinde and Palace Lange Voorhout.
4:00 pm – Drinks at the oldest city tavern Bodega De Posthoorn on the distinguished Lange Voorhout.
Tour of Leiden: Wednesday, October 7th
11:00 am – Welcome at the renowned Pilgrim Museum by curator Sarah Moine, adjacent to the Pieterskerk; viewing of the exhibit on 900-year Leiden in the Pieterskerk.
Light lunch at the Hortus Grand Café inside the renowned Botanical Garden, where the first tulip was introduced in the late 16th-century.
2:00 pm– Guided walk of the city center, ending at the Lakenhal Museum housed in the former Leiden Cloth Hall; its high-quality woolen cloth was shipped to New Amsterdam.
Thursday October 8th: 11:00 am - Official opening event, Delfshaven
European launch of NAHC-Mapping Early New York 1660 Castello Plan at the Pilgrim Fathers Church, Delfshaven.
Following the inaugural event and presentations, a lunch reception will be held at the church.
